MONDAY: We begin our journey to Devon with a lunchtime stop in the historic city of Wells. Known for its magnificent cathedral and charming medieval centre, Wells also features the unique, moated Bishop’s Palace. Later on we carry on to Bideford and the Durrant House hotel for your say of 4 nights
TUESDAY: BARNSTAPLE & ILFRACOMBE : “Barnstaple”, on the Taw Estuary, the oldest borough in the UK and which locals lay claim to be the best ‘blooming’ town in the world, being many times winner of ‘Britain in Bloom’. Enjoy the delightful parks and gardens and visit Green Lanes (North Devon’s premier shopping centre). Ilfracombe is a seaside resort established around a historic natural harbour. To reach the sandy beaches, unique tunnels have been quarried through the cliffs. Explore the sea-front, gardens, the many shops, galleries, cafes and maritime pubs. Depart Hotel at 10.00am
WEDNESDSAY: DUNSTER & LYNTON: Today’s scenic drive takes us across Exmoor, passing through Simonsbath and Wheddon Cross en route to Dunster, one of the region’s most picturesque villages. After a short stop, we continue to Lynmouth for lunch, where you’ll have the opportunity to ride the famous cliff railway (ticket not included) up to Lynton, offering stunning views of the coastline. Depart Hotel 10.00am
THURSDAY: EXMOORE & MINEHEAD Today we take in the enchanting North Devon Coast. We make our way over the vast expanse & beauty of Exmoor to the seaside resort of Minehead With a range of things to do for all ages, Minehead is a fantastic destination. Explore, a fishing quarter and an historic harbour. There’s a 14th Century church on the hill and the much-photographed historic Church Steps. Take a walk down the tree-lined Avenue and visit the selection of tea rooms, pubs and independent shops in the town centre. Depart Hotel 10.00am
Friday : Sadly after breakfast we start to head for home.
